ok ok, sunday

Hello All(meaning you) ha! So Sunday we got up and got ready for the day, we had a breakfast ( there is a reason it was free... ha ha) of waffles and moderately cool orange juice/ Ha ha! Then we went to Deadwood! It was 43 degrees and pouring rain, we were armed with umbrellas and sweatshirts... wishing we had coats! ( Well I wished, anyways) We found (amazingly!) free, yes, FREE parking! Turns out that the visitor's center was painting their parking lot and hadn't reinstalled the parking meters yet! ha!!!! Anyways, so we spent a little time at the visitor's center looking through pamphlets and newspapers to figure out our game plan. We only had one day and wanted to fill it up with everything that we thought we wanted to do. We decided on Adam's House Museum and Regular Museum, Then lunch at Wild Bill's,The Celebrity Hotel's Movie/Famous Car museum, also had memorabilia and props from ton of movies. Then we went to a few shops, then The Broken Boot Gold Mine. Those were the daytime attractions. After the gold mine, we needed to head back to our hotel to get dressed up for the evening for our elegant and fancy dinner at Kevin Costner's gourmet restaurant, Jake's. While the place was nice, I was very disappointed in the fact that they had JUST changed their menu and had not updated their webpage. I had wanted to have the lamb, and it was no longer available :( . Oh well! Then we headed back to the hotel to, once again, whip out the laptops and stay up waaaaaaaaaay too late! We got about 4 hours of sleep, ha ha!
Highlights: The Adam's House was beautiful! I wish we could have looked through it at our own pace verses a tour, but can't complain! The house had been left vacant for 50 years with every linen and piece of furniture in place, right down to the cookie jar of cookies!!!!!! ( Though I think those were staged... like the real originals removed and substitutes in place, but they claimed they were the real ones left there..... Anyways, look it up online if you want more info, it was cool! ( She, the owner, kept it empty by telling people her husband haunted it!)
The pictures are all missing right now, my computer ate them, grrr! Anyways, The museum was great, so much Deadwood history packed into a relatively small building! The prostitute dolls made a comeback I think, in the form of Bratz dolls! Ha ha ha!
The celebrity museum was great too, small but fun! Lots of great pics from there up on my facebook! We saw Herbie, the original, and we saw a M.A.S.H vehicle, and John Wayne's outfit from The Cowboys! It was pretty neat! Lunch was good, but they were out of Reuben Balls... I really had wanted to try them! ( Corned Beef, sauerkraut, battered and fried in ball shapes, and then 1000 island to dip in) Aaaw, shucks. lol! Then we were off to try our hand at old panning! We went on the tour of te gold mine, which is only for tourism now, and then got to pan for gold in a trough. It was fun, I mean it was seeded gold, so you were promised $5-$6 worth of gold, but it was totally fun and worth it! I bought two gold pans for Mike and I. FUN!
Finally we were ready to get ready for our dinner. We all dressed up and headed back to Deadwood. We were seated by the piano, and even got to make a request! Then some patron of the restaurant asked to play, he played The Little Mermaid! He was foreign ( British probably?) So My guess is that he was the guy who probably actually did that song for the movie! haha! Also, there was a food critic sitting right behind us! It was fun, and interesting to watch. We tried escargot, yes poopy snails. So not my favorite! But... They were not the worst thing I have ever eaten. I ordered the veal. I don't particularly like veal, but I tried it, Still not a fan. The salad was amazing though, I guess I like Feta! I also like totally loved the drinks! Erin had a Flamingo ( cranberry Orange), Rachel had an Apricot Pushup, yumy! ( Like cream, Apricot, and maybe soda?) I had a Rose mojito, NA. It was super good! Very strong rose flavor, but really good! Maybe my favorite he hehe! Then some guy came up and told us" May I just say that you ladies look ravishing tonight?" we said thank you and he said your welcome and left. One of the wait staff liked my dress, but i was wildy surprised that both of the younger waitstaff had facial piercings!!! Not too impressive for a four star restaurant. Come on, Kevin! Pay attention to your help! haha! They were super friendly though! Then we were followed out of the casino by two possibly semi-drunk guys, asking if our ladies night was still"on", we ignored them and tried to dash into a store... which was closed lol, but they went into the next open bar. Then an older guy, looked like he might have been a character in the shoot out show, said "Hmm, nice dresses" LOL! We had fun. Then on Monday morning,we left at 6 , oh yeah sunday it was so cold we were freezing in our hotel room and the manager had to come fix the heat... well if we would have known it was the old vent thing, we could have done it :). Anyhow, we left on time at 6 am. The fog was so thick that we couldn't really see the road signs, well.... and ERIN was driving (HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA) short and sweet we made an almost 140 miles trip into and back through Wyoming, only to end up 12.79 miles north of Spearfish! LOL! But all was well because Rachel still made it to Bismarck on time, well enough on time. Good MEMORIES!!!

Bloopers from our Last Girl's Trip for at least 2 years

So... This was our last 'Three Amigos Trip' for at least the next two years. Some pretty funny stuff ended up happening,or we saw funny things. All in all it was a GREAT weekend and I wanted to show some of our laughs! Hopefully your party doesn't have more than one person who needed to really pee! LOL! 2 of the 3 bathrooms at Trapper's Kettle were out of order!

We were just glad to be together and finally get to see each other again! It had been since, well, frankly I don't remember. I think right before Rachel moved to Virginia... Last August maybe, at the fair? I just don't remember if we got together since then..... Regardless, it was a much needed going away party weekend for Rachel! So sad to be all three split up.. but Thank goodness for texting and facebook to be able to keep in touch all the time! ( Phones too... but not always as convenient)

Here was Rachel and I at the Ugly Horse Pub, it was just funny that the "B" got stuck behing the railing, so it read "Ugly Hore, PU!" LOL! as in pee-eww or Poo! LOL

There were many other funny things on our trip, but they will come in my later posts. This afternoon I will Blog about Sunday!

Our Deadwood Trip

Hey Y'all! ( ok Rachel is my only Follower, ha ha!) This Memorial Day Weekend my two best friends and I took a girl's trip to Deadwood, South Dakota. Well.. Mostly to Deadwood, ha! Our trip started off as Rachel left her home in Virginia to fly to Bismarck to drive with Erin to meet me in Belfield. Due to storms, she had to miss her connecting flight and could not fly in until the next morning! (at 10:30) We ended up not meeting at our halfway point until well into the lunch hours. It was still fun and we were just glad to be starting our travel weekend!!! Rachel gave me this handmade candle holder from her trip to Nicaragua! We ate a crappy lunch, with even more awful service at Trapper's Kettle. It use to be so good there too...hmmm. The Borscht was awful!!! Oh well, ha ha! So we set out on our journey to Spearfish! Erin was at the wheel...and slightly nervous, I think due to the rainy condition and the fact that she generally does not drive on two lane highways. It was a long but pleasant drive, we even managed to get into some sun... yes that bright yellowish ball in the sky that rarely shows it's face around here! It was a great time to visit and catch up with one another!
When we arrived in Spearfish, we checked into the Travel Lodge, and put our things into the room। It was a nice room for the price! We decided we were hungry and probably wouldn't have time to go to the amusement park we had kind of planned on visiting, so we opted for a nicer dinner instead. We ended up finding this place called "Guadalajara". It was so fun! We (especially Rachel) wanted to practice our Spanish, so the owners were more than happy to oblige! They spoke with us in Spanish! ( Once again, especially Rachel, cause she is much more advanced than I am in the language, I have lost so much of mine from not practicing). It was so wonderful!
And....The food was great and the service super friendly!!! Loved it!This pic is kind of dark, but it works :) There was this giant ape-like metal sculpture outside of the restaurant in a giant sombrero, naturally we had to get a picture! That about rounded off day 1. We went back to our hotel and all three got on our laptops to blog, or facebook. ha!! Then we visited, discussed our plans for Sunday, and retired to bed.
